About the Founders
Ayansu was founded by Mrunalini—an architect, interior designer, and furniture designer whose journey has spanned both India and Italy.
Having grown up amidst the rich cultural and material landscape of India, her understanding of space and design was rooted early in a deep appreciation for form, texture, and craft. Her later experiences in Italy—where design is part of everyday life— shaped her unique aesthetic sensibility. Her formal education in Interior and Furniture design and exposure to Italian heritage furniture, fashion, and the elegance of restraint brought a refined clarity to her design voice.
Ayansu brings these worlds together. It reflects her philosophy of creating pieces that are grounded yet elevated—objects that belong in homes, not just as décor, but as part of how we live, feel, and connect.
Our Team
Each Ayansu piece is made in close collaboration with artisans across India—some from generational karigar families who bring rare skill and soul to their craft. Our designs come to life through natural materials like solid wood, stone, cane, and handwoven fabrics that age beautifully and tell their own stories over time. We believe in keeping our production purposeful and rooted in quality—where every curve, joint, and surface matters.
