Maintenance Care Guide
Each Ayansu piece is designed and manufactured with great attention to detail. Craftsmanship involves natural elements and aged techniques using modern technology to achieve perfection. Knots in wood, subtle shifts in fabrics, and variations in grains will reveal themselves over time as marks denoting a particular piece’s intentionality to grow and enhance alongside the furniture’s user. All handiwork is meant to * withstand the passage of time, and when given thoughtful approaches to maintenance, furniture and decor pieces can last well beyond decades.
Furniture Maintenance
Dusting • Use soft, dry cloths to regularly eliminate dust from surfaces.
Loosening Stains • To remove stubborn stains from surfaces, gently rub with a damp cloth. Afterward, pat dry with a cloth that is free from lint.
Polishing Raged Surfaces • Do not use strong or abrasive polishes that are silicone based. Periodically used wooden surface nourishments like beeswax polish are fine.
Glass and Wood Frame Washing • Glass and mirror panels should not be cleaned with glass solvents as long as they are in contact with wood frames.
Equipment Maintenance • Protect furniture grade flooring with stylish felt pads placed under the legs of the chairs.
Furniture Care and Avoidance • Avoid moving the furniture without lifting it. It should always be lifted with two hands. During transport they should be two person operated, to prevent dragging.
Polishing Scent Laced Surfaces • Strong perfumes, cosmetics, and chemicals come in contact with furniture care and should be avoided at all costs.
In lined with regular household use seeking extra care should only be utilized. Sharp edges of blades, heels, and surface pets come with a finsh seek care. Glass and mirror surfaces are delicate and do not permit the usage of solvents if they touch flooring during use For any repair work relating to chips, scratches, or other damages, seek expert advice.
Damage Due to Seasonal Changesice. Wood is a living substance and will respond actively to its surroundings. Shrinkage, fine cracking, or stiff movement of drawers and doors are normal manifestations of changes in temperature or humidity.
Placement And Assembly Ensure that your furniture is set on level, even surfaces. Doors, if any, should be fully functional without any need for further adjustments. Self-assembly items should be done where they will be placed to reduce movements that can damage these items.
Upholstery Maintenance – Daily Maintenance
Safeguarding Against Heat and Sunlight Avoid putting furniture too close to heat sources or let them be directly impacted by sunlight. At least 30cm of radiators or heating vents should be kept clear. Prolonged exposure may lead to fade away, crack, or warp wood and other materials.
Upholstery Care Avoid letting dirt build up by wiping furniture regularly with a vacuum and soft-bristled brush attachment. Cushions also need to rotate regularly to keep their shape. Other coordinated pieces of furniture also need to be cleaned to ensure that there is no difference in terms of wear and tear.
Dealing With Spills And Stains Clearing spills promptly adds to preserving its beauty. Rubbing can make it worse and should be avoided. For tough marks or stains, don’t hesitate to ask specialized cleaners. Avoid using solvents, strong bleaches, or abrasive cleaners as they are still too strong.
General Fabric Tips • Consider a maximum 3% shrinkage allowance for the first professional clean. • Fading and other forms of deterioration can be avoided by keeping the fabric away from sunlight and heat. • Furniture pets should be discouraged from climbing or scratching upholstered furniture. • Fabrics finish can be preserved by avoiding contact with hair and cosmetic products, perfumes, and other beauty products.
Leather Upholstery
Understanding leather The uniqueness of natural leather is enhanced by the subtle scars, stretch marks, and shade variations it bears. These tell-tale signs of authenticity mark its flawlessness.
Daily Care • Gently wipe the leather surface with a soft, dry cloth. • Do not vacuum leather surfaces. • Take care with how you clean the leather; only use recommended leather care chemicals. Always patch test first. Saddle soap, hide food, oils, any abrasive cleaners, or solvents should be avoided.
Sunlight & Environment Heat and sunlight can be leather’s worst nightmare. Keep items like laptops and cups away from the leather, as they can become hot and damage it. Positions of radiators and other heat sources should be kept 30 cm away.
Handling & Use • Sitting on the arms or pushing against the edges of furniture should be avoided to maintain their proper use • Zippers, buckles, and garment studs require extra care. • Scratching and sleeping on leather upholstery pets should be kept away from
Care Tips • Routinely remove loose dust from windows and doors. • Do not use cleaners containing solvents. • Make sure light fittings are turned off and have cooled down before attempting to clean them.
Note on Vintage Bulbs Slight golden tinting or color variation of vintage filament bulbs is inherently part of their charm. We recommend using vintage filament bulbs in areas rarely used to extend their life.
Wallpaper Care
Before Installation The wall surfaces should be clean, dry and completely smooth prior to applying wallpaper. Patching up superficial cracks or surface damage should be done prior to pasting Adhesive should be tested in a small area for adherence and finish prior to application.
Cleaning and Maintenance • Dust or vacuum gently with a soft cloth. • With washable wallpaper, clean using a damp sponge with mild soap. This should be tested in an inconspicuous spot first. • Cleaners that are sharp-edged, excessively damp or abrasive are unacceptable.
